Meet Our Team
Executive Director: On Staff 4 Years
My childhood ambition was to be an orca trainer and swim with Shamu at Seaworld. Quite the dream for someone who grew up in central Montana, miles from the ocean. Instead of swimming the depths of the seas, I grew up skiing the slopes and enjoying the Big Sky Country. In the early 90s I moved to Cheney to enjoy dorm life at EWU where I received my BS in Sports-Medicine and PE with a minor in Applied Psychology. More important than the degree, I also met the love of my life, John. John and I got married shortly after graduation from EWU and then proceeded to raise two incredible, handsome, talented sons. Yes, I’m biased. Although it’s not swimming with orcas, my work as Executive Director for MyChoice Clinics has become a calling of sorts. My own experience with an unexpected teen pregnancy and my desire to see all people treated with compassion and dignity combine to infuse the leadership of our non-profit with passion and integrity.
Clinical Services & Education Director : On Staff 8 Years
I was born and raised in sunny southern CA where I earned a degree in defensive driving and later, a degree in Nursing as well. My husband Skip and I moved to the Spokane area in 2009, have 3 grown boys, 2 daughters in law, and 3 grandsons, with one more one the way (guess what we are hoping for?) I was a “Crunchy Mom” before the term was cool which has resulted in grand babies who now love to snack on kale chips and avocado crisps. I’m a Doula and Certified Birth Instructor, both which are huge passions of mine. I also feel like I have my “Dream Job” as the Clinic Director at MyChoice Clinic, where I have the opportunity to do what I love the most; lead an amazing team and be able to love and support people well in the middle of the messiness of life.
Residential Services Director: On Staff 13 Years
I grew up among the wheat fields of Whitman County and could whip any 8th grader in arm wrestling. I graduated from WSU in Social Work and spent many years in various roles from teaching 5th-6th grade, to house parenting, to directing day care. I completed my MSW at EWU. Family is one of my passions! I have a loving husband of 40+ years, 2 grown children and 3 grands. Gardening, learning new things such as building a solar array, and camping are my ways to unwind. Seeing young women find hope and direction for life and parenting makes my day/month and every year!
MyChoice Clinic Manager: On Staff 6 Years
I was born in Spokane, Washington, and I have lived here all my life. I graduated from Shadle Park High School. After attending our community colleges, I made my way to Eastern Washington University where I received my Bachelor’s in Secondary English Education. While finishing my degree, I dated and married my husband Dan. After tutoring and substituting for Spokane Public Schools, I finally got my dream job teaching English at Lewis and Clark High School! However, three quarters into the school year, I retired from teaching when my husband and I started a family. Being a Mom and home schooling my children has been the best, and most difficult, job I have ever had! Several years ago, I heard a group of ladies from MyChoice Clinic speak at my church. I knew then, that I was meant to serve there. I started out volunteering as a Client Advocate for two years during which time I grew a passion for women who are struggling with unplanned pregnancies. Then I got the opportunity to become the Clinic Manager; not only spend more time with clients, but also to work with and train volunteers. Training and encouraging those who serve at My Choice has been such a rewarding and growing experience for me as I continue to minister to the precious women who come through our doors!
Maternity Home Parent &
Fatherhood Director: On Staff 1 Year
Mark Morton was born on the sunny shores of Santa Monica, California. Mark eventually traveled inland to attend UCLA where he completed his Bachelors and Masters degree in surfing of course. Cowabunga dude! Mark and his beautiful wife Josephine have three daughters, Meraza, Patricia, and Jalina. As a family they enjoy camping, hiking, riding bikes, and eat copious amounts of pizza. Mark loves listening to his favorite band, Cap’n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters, old movies from the 1950’s, and watching his beloved Lakers. When not on tour as the drummer for the Tower of Power, Mark is the Fatherhood Director, Maternity House Dad, and has a reoccurring role as the MyChoice Maintenance guy.
Receptionist: On Staff 7 Years
As one of our Receptionist at MyChoice, I love being the first one to welcome our clients to the clinic! My family and I moved to Spokane from Colorado 8 years ago when both my boys decided to attend (different) colleges here in beautiful eastern Washington. I also have a daughter, Lily, still in high school, but who is dying to move out and on with her life! Moving around has been a life-long pattern for me. I grew up in Oregon where I met my husband, Brad, in 7th grade. After getting married, we jumped around to towns in 6 different states! We also lived in China for a year, where we began the process of adopting our daughter, Lily, and learned a little Mandarin along the way! Exploring new places, time with family (brand new granddaughter!), and being out in the garden are some of my favorite activities.
RN & MyChoice Mobile Clinic Manager: On Staff 2 Years
I was born in the Portland area, and over the years I grew up calling several different places home, including Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Michigan, and briefly Quebec and Ivory Coast, Africa. Ultimately though, I am a Pacific Northwestern girl at heart. Spokane became home for me when I moved here for college in 2009, attending Whitworth University and WSU College of Nursing here locally. I love camping, hiking, swimming, and doing just about anything spending quality time with friends and family. My husband Cody and I met online in 2015, have been married four years now, and are anticipating the arrival of our second daughter this summer. After graduating nursing school, I worked in the Neonatal ICU at Sacred Heart and started volunteering here at MyChoice. In 2018, I transitioned into a staffing position here, and I feel truly privileged to work with our amazing staff team and clients.

“I have been married to my husband Gus for 18 years and we have 3 children. Something fun about me: I am an identical twin! What drew me to MyChoice was being able to use my training as a nurse to walk alongside women/families going through hard, hard things. My two favorite things about working here are: building relationships with clients and working with amazing people who encourage and teach me every single day.”
Case Manager: On Staff 1Year
I am a Spokane native, who like many of the clients we serve, have my own unplanned pregnancy story. My daughter was born in 1993 mid way through my senior year of high school. As a single mom, I attended college locally so that I had access to my family and support network. I met my husband also a Spokane native, at a stock car track in Idaho, when my daughter was 4. We married when she was 5 and he adopted her shortly after. In 2001, our son was born, last December Rob and I celebrated our 20th anniversary. I first learned about Life Services in 2008 at a Women’s ministry event and knew instantly I wanted to be involved. My husband and I hosted three girls over the next five years as a Host Home and have been involved in various ways since. I am so honored to, again, be part of the Life Service team.

“I am a mom of 5 including triplet toddlers and two single babies, making home life full of fun and much chaos! I volunteered as an advocate with the clinic back in 2015 before finding out I was pregnant with the triplets and always knew I wanted to come back and serve in some capacity. I love being at the front desk and getting to be the first face these women and men get to see when they come in for appointments. It is an honor to serve them and hear their stories. Everyone has a story – and that’s mine in a nutshell.

I still remember being 19, making decisions that were driven by wanting to be accepted and loved. At that age, I often felt insecure and very much alone. Fast forward to my 50’s when I returned to my nursing career after being a stay-at-home mom for 28 years. Now, in my current season of life (I’m a proud grandma of 3), I knew I wanted to serve young women who may feel like I did; to let them know there is hope for healing, security and unconditional love found in Jesus, and support during life’s difficult times. Fun fact about me: I am a lifelong learner. Last year, my daughter and I took American Sign Language together at Spokane Community College. Still practicing, but looking forward to the next educational challenge!

Hello I’m Erin. I’m a spokane native. I’ve been a nurse for 12 years, I graduated from WSU in 2008. I have done everything from ICU, to surgery to urgent care and I love how I can use all of my background and experiences to help the women at MyChoice. I met my husband Marc at WSU, and we will celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary this May. We have 4 children, the 4th who will be joining our family this June. I am so thankful to have a career where I can merge my nursing skills and my love of Jesus to offer holistic, compassionate care. A fun fact about our family, we are wheat farmers and also raise pigs.
